HOW VTUBE-LASER CALCULATES GD&T TRUE POSITION
VTube-LASER actually shows the "spherical radius true position" values in more than one place in the Inspection Data. |
Tangent Point Deviations: Spherical Radius True Position
The TANGENT POINT and MIDPOINT deviations along the centerline are the equivalent of spherical radius true position values. The deviations shown in the Tangent grid in the Inspection Data menu show these deviation values (Tangent-Midpoint-Tangent along each straight). | ||
This image shows the tangent points and midpoints along a master centerline. |
Intersection Point 3D Deviations: Spherical Radius True Position
The 3D deviations for the XYZ centerline end and intersection points are also the equivalent of spherical radius true position values. The 3D deviations shown in the XYZ grid in the Inspection Data menu show these deviation values. |
Values
The T1 and T2 TRANSLATE values control the influence that tangent 1 or tangent 2 have in each straight. This is a translation influence - which means it controls the influence along the X, Y, and Z axes without reference to any twisting motion for the alignment. The STRAIGHT VECTOR values allow each straight to have more or less influence with rotational or angular alignment - like a twist. (Twist in alignment is also referred to as "transformation" - which is distinct from "translation".
See the T1 and T2 TRANSLATE for "translation.)

Popup Menu
As of 2.9.17, VTube also includes a popup menu to make changing the values easier. |
