A chuck is a holding device that closes on and holds the tube in the rotate spindle of a bender carriage.

In the tube fabrication industry, the word "chuck" and "collet" are sometimes used as synonyms. However, a collet is a sub-type of a chuck. See collet chuck and jaw chuck for more information.

CNC benders typically used one of these two types of chucks.
