NEW OPTION in LOW LEVEL MENU

In the Low Level menu, a new option that allows for the enabling of password protection for option lists is added. This feature can only be changed by entering the Low Level menu, which itself requires a MASTER password to enter.

NEW PASSWORD IN MAIN INTERFACE

In the main interface, I created a password system that allows a supervisor to enter a second unique password on the main interface in order to edit the options in CNC Bender. This is the screen where the supervisor enters the password:

If the password entered in the box is incorrect, then this timed message displays:

If the password is correct, then this timed message displays:

CNCBender CorrectPassword.jpg

The password remains in the edit box for up to 15 minutes. As long as the correct password is entered in the box, all options in the main interface can be edited.

The options edit password is unique from the master password. The master password is required to enter Low Level menus. The options edit password will not allow access to the Low Level menus. The only place to reset both the master password and the “options edit” password is in the Low Level menus.

If the supervisor has entered a correct password in the main interface, then all options everywhere in the main interface can be edited by anyone until that password is cleared. The “Clear Password Authorization” button allows the user to clear the password when finished editing options.

15 MINUTE TIMER

As a safety measure, the options edit password will automatically clear after 15 minutes, and a dialog will display like shown here. If this dialog appears, the authorized user will need to go back to the password screen and reenter the password before continuing.

"REQUIRES AUTHORIZATION" MESSAGE

In the main interface, if an unauthorized user tries to edit a protected option, then this message displays for a couple of seconds, then the keyboard closes:

NON-SECURED OPTIONS

There are a few edit boxes that are never password protected – because these items must be accessed by operators on a regular basis. These are open options:

  1. The edit box values in the PreBend page – like LOAD and START position

  2. The edit box values in the Tool page, where users can set the clamp and pressure die lengths, and bend radii
  1. The Adjustment fields in the FRB page
  1. The Radius level buttons
  1. The file search keyboards for load and save.

  1. The Low Level option list is never protected because it requires that the master password be used to get into the Low Level screen anyway.
