Check.jpg NEW: Trim Surface Datum for Trimming or Extending End Lengths

VTube-STEP now allows for different kind of Trim Surfaces now. Older versions only allow for the centroid (average XYZ point) of all points in a solid used to trim.

  • CENTROID POINT - Trim/Extend to the average centroid point in the surface cloud.

  • FURTHEST POINT - Trim/Extend to the furthest point in the cloud from the midpoint of the tube centerline.

  • NEAREST POINT - Trim/Extend to the nearest point in the cloud from the midpoint of the tube centerline.

Check.jpg NEW: Add Collection Grid Properties Column and Edit Datum Menu

The new properties column allows for new options to accompany each of the collected objects.

The properties cells will show the TrimSurf datum type.

Right click on any TrimSurf row, then choose Edit Trim Surface Datum to enter this menu (below):

Check.jpg ENHANCED: DEFAULT Projection Tolerance for Centerline Calculation is Removed from Interface

Since the STEP mode calculation engine completely automates the Projection Tolerance, there is no longer a need for the user to set this value.

It is removed from above the Collection grid.

Check.jpg CRITICAL ENHANCEMENT: Cylinder Centerline Calculation in Math Engine Improved Significantly

PROJECTION TOLERANCE ACCURACY

To enhance the calculations, the automatic Projection Tolerance in VTube-STEP now starts with an much smaller projection tolerance at a 10th of a micron (0.0001 mm, or 0.000003937 inches).

If the centerline for the cylinders cannot be solved for, then VTube increases the projection tolerance until it finds a solution.

The final projection tolerance used is stored in the Collection grid so that you can view the result at any time after a calculation.

PROJECTION FOR ROUGH CYLINDERS

Sometimes VTube is asked to calculate the centerline of a cylinder that's not really a cylinder. VTube can handle approximate cylinders much better in this version than in previous versions.

This includes projections for cylinders with forms like coping and bulges or holes - or just inaccurate surfaces.

Check.jpg Other Changes

  • Fixed a bug in the Recent Folder data in the Quick Load Dialog for project files and import files.

  • The Alpine M4 export was fixed: The radius level is now included in the YBC data. The last C value (Length) is set to ZERO in the YBC columns.
