FARO Version 6 Scanner
About Laser Stripes
FARO scanners emit what appears to be a laser line that strikes a surface. The line is actually divided into thousands of distinct dots that are then interpreted as surface points at the FARO scanner.
v6 Scanner
The version 6 scanner is the first scanner to emit a blue laser. The previous versions emit red lasers.
Why is the v6 Blue Laser Scanner Better?
The version 6 blue laser scanner has some strong advantages over previous versions of red laser scanners. It has proved to be robust for measuring materials that are black or highly reflective. It can handle bright factory lighting where previous versions struggeld to overcome the room lighting.
How does it do this? Reduced Refraction
The v6 scanner takes advantage of the reduced refraction properties of blue laser versus red laser. Every pixel or point of laser on a surface has an inherent amount of spectral refraction that makes the point less precise because the edges of the point become blurred to some laser systems. The v6 blue laser has a less refracted dot (sharper) than previous red laser version dots - making precise detection by the camera much easier than before.
Not only are the dots in the stripes more precise than before - but there are more of them. The v6 scanner can return

Measuring Software: VTube-LASER
VTube-LASER Tube Measuring Software
VTube-LASER is our tube measuring center solution for tube fabrication shops. It is designed exclusively for measuring tubes - which allows us to fine tune the package for tube shops and keep the package easy to use.
In 2010, we granted exclusive distribution rights to FARO for VTube-LASER in North and South America.
CAM2 Software: Benderlink for FARO
For benders or Benderlink software that use the SVNET protocol
Communications with benders can be performed through VTube-LASER or Benderlink for FARO (for CAM2).
