If you accidentally delete a file that is not in the recycle bin (like when you delete files from a flash drive, or you press Ctrl-Delete) - it is possible to recover those files if you act quickly.

The files are not actually deleted. They are marked as available space that can be overwritten by other files.

So if you delete a file, then there is a good chance you can get it back with an utility program like Recuva.
